NCR 7766 Proof Machine

NCR 7766

Today's 7766 applies NCR's decades of experience in designing and servicing single pocket proof encoders to offer you reliability second to none. The heart of the 7766, its proven, fourth-generation thermal encoder, contains far fewer moving parts than conventional impact encoders, thus minimizing service costs and maximizing uptime. It also provides higher print quality, reducing encoder-attributable reject rates on 3890 reader/sorters by as much as 66%.This can mean significant savings, especially if your bank processes large volumes of checks, or your processing center charges penalties for codeline rejects.

Easy To Monitor

The 7766 provides a broad range of tools to help you monitor productivity and manage your encoding environment effectively. Each time a document is processed, the 7766 journal printer prints out a record, providing a comprehensive audit trail. The 7766 also lets you define and track up to 17 different distribution and transaction-level totals at a time. And as batches are cut and balanced, it lets you store up to 120 such totals in a log, to track batch-level information. To help you monitor productivity, the 7766 can also track up to 20 operator activities (for example, document processing, error correction, meal breaks, and training) and analyze them in up to 3 different summary reports on productive activity, non-productive activity, and breaks. The 7766 also monitors performance statistics (numbers of keystrokes made, fields encoded, and documents processed). The 7766 Clustered Proof option automates and simplifies productivity monitoring still further. By connecting all of your 7766 workstations into an Ethernet LAN, it lets you consolidate statistics from up to 50 workstations on a single PC server, then analyze them using any industry-standard spreadsheet package. Supervisors spend much less time gathering operator performance data, and management can make scheduling, performance appraisal, and pay incentive decisions much faster and more accurately.

Quiet and Comfortable To Use

To work at peak productivity, operators must be comfortable at their workstations. The 7766 has been ergonomically designed with operator comfort and efficiency as a top priority. The 7766's whisper-quiet thermal encoder eliminates the harsh clatter of impact encoders-a significant stressor in many proof-room environments. The extra-generously padded, full-support armrest reduces operator fatigue. Convenient storage trays and dividers let operators keep in-process work and control documents out of the way, but close at hand, to minimize reaching and stretching. Then there are the subtle touches. Like ribbed surfaces to keep documents from sliding off or getting lost when the operator puts them down for a moment. And doors on the top of the console to give operators fast access to all devices on which they have to replace media.
