 O'Scan, as a Risk Management Tool, is designed to improve loss prevention and cost control relating to the capture of daily check deposits at the branch level by eliminating the need for microfiche capture, transport, storage and developing.
O'Scan was developed for Risk and Loss Prevention Managers who recognize the need for a technology based alternative to microfiche. Branch deposits (transactional size documents) can now be imaged quickly and easily by tellers either at shift breaks or at the end of the day. The images are archived in the event a deposit is called into question or is lost on its way to the banks processing center, without the recurring costs of microfilm and developing.
O'Scan costs about the same to buy as a microfilmer; but with O'Scan you don't have the recurring cost of film and developing, and you have the added advantage of being able to recreate a deposit in minutes! One deposit loss could easily be more than the cost of installing the entire system at the branch level. . O'Scan is designed with the operator in mind. Controls are intuitive so training is minimal. Items scanned can be reprinted in report form with the front and rear of the document presented on the front of the same page.  CORRECTIONS
When Auto Edit is selected, the program searches the selected batch for items that have known errors in the scan line or empty fields and prompts the operator to correct them. Only unreadable characters and completely blank fields are considered errors.
When Manual Edit is selected, the operator is given access to correct or make changes to the parsed fields of all documents, not just the ones with unreadable characters.
RESEARCH
The Research function is one of the most powerful features of the software package. It allows an operator to select a date range of items in which to search for a myriad of criteria. From this screen you select the date range from which you intend to query. you can inspect single items using the Detail button, or you can highlight it (one item or many) and print it, or you can export the data and images to an outside folder.
 QUERY
This option allows the operator to perform powerful data query functions. The field column shows all the different columns that data can be sorted by.
The Action column gives you buttons to select what action will dictate your search. After selecting the action, enter the data in the Value column. Once you have your query criteria set, click on the "OK" button to activate the query. The results will be displayed in the view screen. The white box beside the "Query" button will clear the query results and allow you to perform another query, or a different task.
 EXPORT
This screen allows you to Export all the day's data and images to an external folder. The export will include all the data present on the view screen. You may select the current day, a previous day, or a range of days by using the Date Range function prior to the Export function. The images are named and in jpeg format.
